Curse lifted?
Interesting. Today, I was able to log in to my AIM account again, which I had been an issue I was dealing with. So, it appears that the monkeys at AOL have removed the curse caused by associating an XDrive account with and AIM account.
This pleases me.
Am I so pleased that I will continue to use XDrive or recommend it to friends? No.
Will I continue to use AIM? Only because it is the one way I can get in touch with a few of my contacts. (If I could get them to switch, then that would make me very happy.)
Overall, I was very displeased with the customer “service” offered by AOL regarding this issue. In fact, it was very similar to dealing with the helpful TSA folks at American airports.
My AIM screen name was imprisoned for violating some rule. When I inquired about the rule I had broken, I was basically told that I did not have access to the rulebook (mostly because I use a free account). Then, as mysteriously as it had begun, my screen name was released from imprisonment without reason. It was as if they said, “Sorry about the wrongful imprisonment and full body cavity search. You are free to go now. Have a nice day!”
Actually, it is not “as if they said” anything. Rather, they dropped my screen name off on some dusty back road, removed the blindfold, and then sped off into the distance.
Customer service indeed.
